Production Careers

Big Team acts as a connector between industry networks, employers, and emerging talent.

Production roles in the festival industry are often filled through informal networks, with opportunities rarely advertised publicly, making it difficult for people outside of this existing networks to know where to start or how to progress.

In response, our production careers work focuses on opening up the industry and making routes into production roles clearer, fairer, and more accessible. We support people to explore the wide range of behind-the-scenes roles within the events and festival sector, while building the knowledge, confidence, and connections needed to create meaningful and sustainable careers.

Festival Pathways is our flagship career development programme, that supports talent in the South West break into the industry through hands-on experience, mentoring, and paid placements.

Open to entry-level participants and those with some experience, the programme demystifies the industry and builds clear, supported pathways into paid work.

Alongside our industry partners, we review internal processes by providing training, working groups and creating networking opportunities throughout the year.

“A big shout out to Big Team genuinely being the best and most welcoming employer I've ever had.

You've made me feel like the parts of myself that other places have shamed me for, aren't something bad. I can't thank you enough for that, and I can't wait to work with you in the future.”
