Outreach
Outreach at Big Team is about creating accessible entry points into the festival industry for young people who might otherwise be excluded. We focus on early, meaningful engagement that breaks down barriers to participation, whether those barriers are around access, confidence, representation, or awareness.
Our outreach activity is rooted in meeting young people where they are. We work within schools, youth spaces, and community centres to build trust, spark curiosity, and create low-pressure opportunities to explore careers in the industry. By connecting directly with young people, we demystify the sector and make it feel more open and comfortable through a person-centred approach.
Outreach is often the first step in someone’s journey with Big Team. It acts as a bridge into our wider programmes, connecting young people to training, networks, and real opportunities across the arts, music, events, and cultural workspaces. Through sustained relationships and clear progression routes, our outreach work helps young people build confidence, develop ambition, and take their first steps toward creative jobs.
