Salma’s journey with Big Team began at LSTD in 2023, where a Guest List role opened the door to industry connections and festival experience. It meant so much to have a real supportive and encouraging space to grow for the first experience, and it was paid!

With continued support, she went on to secure a Stage Management placement at Boomtown in 2024, and in 2025 was a Stage Manager at LSTD and FORWARDS Festival. Salma now works across multiple events and festivals all year round, mostly in stage management and event production.

Salma describes Big Team as a supportive, professional, and welcoming space that treats people as valued professionals, offers vital paid opportunities, and provides consistent guidance and connections across the industry. She shares that people were really friendly and supportive during this beginning stage of her career and were keen to have conversations with her even though the festival was on.
